You may ask yourself, “If I am welcomed with open arms already, why should I become a member of the congregation”? And while it is true, we openly accept all who wish to attend regular service, regardless of one’s race, nationality, gender, beliefs, orientation, or membership, there are many benefits to joining as a full member of our Congregation.

When you join our membership, you are being a part of and making a commitment to a Congregation of like-minded people, greatly increasing your circle of family and friends for fellowship and spiritual growth. Even if you practice as a solitary, you can benefit from the guidance and support of others in the community, while expanding your horizons and base of knowledge.

As a member, you’ll be eligible to obtain various services from the church, including weddings, rites of passage, funerals and assistance from the benevolence fund if need arises. You’ll also enjoy access to special holiday services, and membership events.

Participation in the community is a vital role of members, not to mention great opportunities to meet and get to know others. As a Member, you’ll be able to join any number of important committees, all important to the continued success of SWSUL, in ALL we do.

Being a member also provides you the opportunity to pursue and serve in positions of leadership in the church. Members who take an active role in the Congregation can be considered for election or appointment to various roles, even to sit on the Board of Directors, as is set forth in our Bylaws.

Along with all of these benefits provided, Members are also entitled to all the rights set forth in the Church bylaws as stated in Article III, Section 2.

But as a Member of Sacred Wind Sanctuary, the biggest benefits are the ones you provide back to the church. You help to create and maintain the lasting relationships and influences of the congregation, and community as a whole. You help to finance the activities and expansion of the congregation, which in turn provides more benefits and activities for members, and helps us help the community!
